By Vibrational Have you ever sat at the desks in HDA, seen a founder idling in a random spot in base and thought, jeez, those founders look like they don't do much, I want their job! Well I'm here to offer a founders perspective on what it is like being a founder.. Morning - I wake up and one of the first things i do is check Discord, I scroll through most chats without reading many messages, cause there are literally thousands across multiple servers. I read anything that has a 1 on it (anything I or a group i'm in has been tagged) I then read the tonnes of personal messages I have been sent overnight, mostly people asking for things that others could have helped with, but I answer them and help our members even though I'm dying inside because I've been on discord for 40 minutes at this point and haven't had a chance to log into Habbo yet. Founders are always happy to help people out, but don't be surprised if we are hard to contact, or slow to reply, or forget to reply completely! We are all very busy and have hundreds of thousands of messages to sort through daily. Don't take it personally and don't be rude to us because we haven't replied to a message, just message us again nicely! Afternoon - Check the forums and make sure everything is running smoothly, read and respond to any reported posts, and scroll through mentions and alerts to make sure nothing has been missed. I also shift my focus to divisions or other things im responsible specifically, all founders have aspects of HDA that they focus on, mine is currently the blog squad, but I have also stepped in as acting director for various divisions. So I check the blog and when the last post was, writing up ideas or actual posts to publish, collecting articles from people or chasing people who haven't sent me anything in a while. Evening - OMG I CAN FINALLY LOG INTO HABBO! After finally getting through the monster discord backlog, checking the fourms and maintaining whatever tasks I am responsible for, I can finally play the game that started it all. I log in and.... Well, isn't that lovely. To be a founder you need a thick skin, while most HDA members themselves aren't as nasty as this, you do tend to get people sending you messages, bullying you and being general pains in the ass because being a founder means making decisions, and not everyone is going to like those decisions! If i'm not getting hate, I'm getting this: I think getting spam whispered with questions or asking for help is sometimes worse than getting hate, with hate you can at least ignore it, but people who whisper to me are actually needing help and I want to help them, but I'm only one person and cannot help everyone at once.
After all of the whispers have been taken care of, I try and do some of the basic duties, accepting pay badges, training, working in sec, on the help desk, FTF, because we are workers in HDA just like everyone else, but sometimes, we just don't have time for that stuff! Plus we know our hard working members have that stuff covered ;) So that is a typical day and typical workload for a founder! As hectic as it is we all love it, and we love working with each and every one of you. Every day is different, we invest so much time and energy into HDA that we want it, and you, to succeed! If you are now thinking 'shit I've spam whispered a founder before, but IDK what to do when I need to contact them!!' here is some suggestions on communicating with a founder:
