HABBO2020 - Grand Finale

It’s almost time to say goodbye to habbo as we know it, so let’s see what’s been updated since our last blog 😔.

Habbo MarketPlace

• The plan to have a 10% operational fee has now been removed. 

• Sale fees have been readjusted so that if something doesn’t sell, you won’t be charged. 

• You will now have to level up a new achievement “The travelling salesman” to increase the maximum credits you can put for sale in the marketplace. Please see below details of the achievement and it’s levels limits.

Travelling Salesman Achievement

Depending on your level for this achievement, the is a maximum price you can place items for on Marketplace: 

No levels achieved: 10 credits.
Level 1: 10 credits.
Level 2: 100 credits.
Level 3: 1,000 credits.
Level 4: 10,000 credits
Level 5: 100,000 credits

Habbo has done this in hopes of “rewarding” Habbos who complete successful sales, and to stop people placing items for ridiculous prices - for example a rubber duck for 1,450c.

Duckets Limits & Private Messages

• Credit limits are going to be increased (current is 1300 for HC, 650 for others) But they will be encouraging members to spend the credits as any above your limit will have a percentage deducted.

• Private Chats have still not been able to be put into place on the new client, but will still work on the old flash client. Habbo are seeing private chats as a priority to sort out as it's a huge part of Habbo experience.

General Levelling System

As some of you may remember from earlier updates, we now have levels on our habbo account. Below I will go into more depth about this. 

• Your level will be calculated based on the following:

1. Achievement Scores (1pt per)
2. Badges - NOT GROUPS (1pt per)
3. Room Hosting (unrevealed)
4. Furni owned (limited)

 

• Every minute a habbo player spends on your room while hosting a room promo, is then multiplied by their avatar level and then divided by a higher number to give you your points. Unfortunately the information of the numbers was not released. 

• For each piece of unique furni you own, you earn a point. However duplicates, stickies, photos and BC Warehouse furniture does not contribute to this. 

• Your score will go down depending if you sell/buy items.

• In the move to in courage players to do more, and mitigate purchasable progress, you will be limited by the combined number of points you earned. - For example, if your achievement score was 36, your badges will cap (max out) at 36 until you continue to progress.

Group Badges

• Group Names & designs will not be changeable. However as a compromise they are allowing the description to be modified. 

• Habbo has decided this as some badges end up being changed by the owners to offensive names, or something that the player may not like/agree with. For example if they changed a LGBTQ+ badge to a mafia badge)

• Habbo are still deciding about making the design of badges modifiable, however it’s a “low priority”.

• There are limits of group member numbers, and habbo will not be changing this. They wish to see badge owners level up, and reward higher levelled members of the habbo community with more badge member capacity.

Stack height, Room Rights & Room Chat Distance

• Habbo originally was going to lower the stack height to 10, however they are changing it back to 40. Although, they are not sure when this will be done, as it’s “in the developers backlog”

• You won’t just be able to not hear Habbos on the other side of a room, but you won’t be able to SEE them either!! To see & hear Habbos on the opposite side of a room you will need to drag across or zoom out.

• Room rights are now limited to rooms badges. Therefore, you can no longer give random members RR without them being in the badge.

Wired Furni & Bots

Currently bots are not in Habbo2020, but will be updated and implemented; whereas Wired is currently glitchy on the new server and not working correctly. Habbo is working on fixing this.

One-time-passwords

• Habbo is shifting the responsibility of keeping your account safe to the players. 

• Due to many players losing their accounts to hackers by clicking on links, the hacker would now need access to the email registered to that account in order to access it.

• Additionally, you will be able to add 2FA in the future.

Both clients running side-by-side?

There will be a period during the shift where both clients will be running, and you can choose which to play.  However, the flash client servers will close down shortly after.

Preparing for the Launch!!

Before making the Habbo 2020 client available on all hotels, the developers are running a test on the .TR hotel to check its stability.

After this is done, later this month all Habbos will have the chance to participate in the open beta!
