RIP SWAT: The tale of how SWAT shaped our agencies forever, and why they shall not be forgotten

Back Story:
Swat was Founded in 2011 by Jmmey321, Also known as John. Its original name was EBO, Elite Black Ops. Due to the rapid rise of agencies at the time, it didn’t take swat long to rise to the top. There wasn’t that much competition at the time, maybe a few agencies but not like the 20+ we see today. The administration at swat was really active compared to other agencies. They were often confused with being simply high ranking members, due to their activity. This led to the rapid, long term success of SWAT.

PAY
Before swat, most agencies said that they paid but really didn’t. Swat was the very first agency to actually pay all of its members in 2013. The pays were weekly and ranged between 1 and 2c. You could only get paid at SWAT’s weekly meetings. Weekly meetings shown below. A video of Jmmey321 paying everyone can be found Here​.

Promotion logging
In the early days, when you were promoted, you were simply given a tag, and were expected to remember your promoter from that tag. That is all that was used to verify your promotion. There was a list within a group forum that would show up in base. At some agencies(most of the ones that didn’t pay) you were simply given a motto with no tag. As SWAT was one of the first with a Website, they were the first to create actual logs where you could log each person you promoted, so it wasn’t easy to self promote anymore. 

Base evolution
Originally all habbo bases used the executive line of furni.

As you can see, the FTFs were quite bulky and old looking. 
Then, they went to no desks, but still the executive line.

Then, they switched from all that nonsense, to kitchen corner blocks and no bars.
This however, took a while(about 1 year)

This also marked the first time using the cabin stone and wood tiles in bulk quantities. 
Then, we have the lighter, more vertical bases, those shown below.

This also marked the switch from seats to rollers, making users easier to manage in the ftf.

Events
Football: SWAT played a lot of football,
their one of the pioneering agencies for early habbo agency football, images below.

​Large, celebration events: swat always had a thing where they always loved to party,
​it would always be a party in there. Images below.

Setup for swat got talent

Why did they fall?
Well, without getting too much into the details. Founders create agencies for a reason, and for the swat foundation team, it was to create a wholesome environment for many, without having any of the frills or anything, just a great place to work with great people. When agencies started to bring all these alt accounts in base, and raise pay, the founders had to switch their reasoning. SWAT went through a long, multi year period of ups and downs, and then it was finally time to pull the plug, not worth trying anymore.
